Group Rates & Reservations
Reservations are available for groups renting eight boats or more. If you are renting fewer than eight boats, just come down — it's rare that we run out of boats!
During our off-peak hours, we are happy to offer discounted group rates. Group reservations during our peak hours are available with a reservation fee. For groups renting eight boats or more, we offer a 20% discount off our regular rental rates. No discounts are offered on kids' kayaks. We offer additional discounts for School Groups (K-12) and Camps.
Customized instruction and guiding is available for $120/hour or $500/day per instructor. Click the link to see information on our maximum ratio of instructors/guides to boats.
One person must pay for all boats and instruction at the same time.
A $50 deposit is required for groups renting 20 boats or more.
No discounts are offered during our peak hours of Noon to 5pm on Weekends and Holidays, though you can still reserve boats. See our Peak Hour reservation policy below.
Special Rates for School Groups (K-12) and Camps:
When renting 8-9 boats: 20% off regular rates (except kids' kayaks).
When renting 10-14 boats: 40% off regular rates (except kids' kayaks).
When renting 15 boats or more: 50% off regular rates (except kids' kayaks).
Customized instruction is available for $75/hour or $400/day per instructor.

Reservations Are Required for Groups Peak-Hour Reservations (Outings Starting Noon–5pm Weekends/Holidays)
Peak-hour reservations are available for groups renting eight boats or more.
We require pre-payment of a reservation fee of $10/boat plus a deposit equal to one hour of rental for each reserved boat.
No discounts are available during peak hours.
You may avoid the reservation fee by scheduling your outing to begin before or after our peak hours.
Payment & Cancellation Policy
Pre-payment is required for Peak-Hour reservations (reservation fee plus one hour of rental), custom sea kayak trips, food orders, boat deliveries, and guides/instructors. A deposit of $50 is required for on-site rentals of 20 or more boats during non-peak hours; on-site rentals of fewer than 20 boats during non-peak hours do not require any pre-payment.
Reservations cancelled by the following deadlines receive either a refund of their deposit less a 10% registration fee, or a full credit to a store account. This credit does not expire and may be used for instruction, rentals, or purchases at Charles River Canoe & Kayak or the Weston Ski Track.
Prepaid Group Reservations and Private Instruction at our locations must be cancelled by 5pm the night before the event (except custom trips, deliveries, and catering orders). Cancellations due to weather must be made at least 2 hours before the event.
Off-Site Guiding/Instruction must be cancelled at least 7 days before the event. Cancellations due to weather must be made by 5pm the night before the event.
Boat Deliveries must be cancelled 24 hours prior to the event. Cancellations due to weather must be made by 5pm the night before the event.
Catering Orders must be cancelled at least 7 days before the event.
For all cancellations made after these deadlines, no refunds or credits will be issued.
