Every child has been to camp. Here's one they'll never forget! Sea Kayak Camp
The secret is out: Massachusetts has some of the most exciting sea kayaking on the East Coast, and your child can explore it with Charles River Canoe & Kayak! The Sea Kayak Camp is designed for kids entering grades 6–8 who are looking for a week of excitement and adventure on the water. Starting off in a protected harbor to learn the basics,
Video by Interlock Media. While the focus of each day is on exploration and adventure through sea kayaking, there will be plenty of time for swimming, playing games, and (of course) building friendships. After this camp, you may have a hard time getting your child to give up a life at sea!
Sea kayak camp is offered in two separate and distinct weeks to allow your child to experience as much of the coast as possible. The July 16 session will explore Boston's North Shore, with destinations such as Gloucester, Rockport (including the incomparable Thacher Island), and Manchester-by-the-Sea. The Aug. 6 session will explore the South Shore, with destinations like Boston's Inner Harbor, Hingham, and Cohasset. The July 23 session will include a mixture of North and South Shore destinations. Sign up for one week, or double your fun and choose two!
The Sea Kayak Camp meets each day at our Newton Boathouse and then travels by van to the day’s paddling destination. The camp is for kids entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grades and requires no previous paddling experience.
Full-Day Sea Kayak Camp meets for five 8-hour sessions (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm). The camp meets across the river from our Newton Boathouse and travels by van to the day's destination.
$449 includes five days of full-day camp.
Requirements for Kids' Program Participants
The nature of our kids' program experience requires that children possess a level of self-sufficiency, since activities are conducted in groups, and requires a level of skill to ensure that all campers can participate in our activities. In addition, to promote equal opportunity and enjoyment by all participants, children are expected to display appropriate behavior at all times and readily respond to corrective measures when taken.
In response, we have developed certain requirements that all participants must meet. Click here to view these requirements. Registration & Cancellation Policies for Kids' Camps
