Race for Snow Days
Date TBD, Freestyle 5km
As skiers, we observe the acute effects of climate change each winter, and further damage to the climate would devastate the sport we love. Thus, The Race For Snow is a nordic ski fundraiser for climate change research through the organization 350.org. The race has been conceived, organized, and executed by local high school students for the past three years. This year, the Race For Snow will take place on January 19th at the Weston Ski Track in Weston, MA. There will be events for the entire family, with the first races beginning at 9 AM. This event is a non-fluorinated event. No fluorinated waxes are permitted. Registration is open
Participate in one of the coolest traditions in cross country skiing! Ski a lap and try your hand at shooting (Rifles are infrared, so totally safe and fun for all ages!) Rifles are available for sighted and visually impaired competitors. Sit skis and other adaptive ski equipment is also available.
The cost to participate will be $5 for those under 18, $10 for adults, and free for veterans. Trail Passes and Rentals can be purchased at our regular rates and are also free for veterans on this day.
Race as far as you can in 2 hours! After 2 hours, we close the lap track, and you finish the lap that you are on. The winner is the person that’s completed the most laps + is 1st over the line if on the same lap at the end. We are looking for a couple of volunteers to help with lap counting. Please send an email to email@example.com if you can help out with the race. Cost: Free with a season pass or purchase of a trail pass. Registration opens at 2pm and the race starts at 3pm.
